Gippsland gold shimmers through this morning with a listing by a notable architect, skillfully created as a family compound and now awaiting a rebirth. Designed by Geoffrey Woodfall as a commission for (and constructed by), local builder Mr. J Miles and family (c.1974), this residence has lain dormant for a couple of years, adding a dusty patina to those jaw-dropping cathedral ceilings, timber, silver pendant lights and sensational, Jaggar-in-Morocco tile. On a half-acre and in the heart of downtown even this regional ripper might be in strife, but for under $500k surely there is some homebound hipster ready to take this one on and adore such irreplaceable features and solid Mid-Century design……..
Thanks to Steven at MCDA (check our Rolodex under ‘ Preservation & Culture) for the background on this one.
