A prime-time Modernist (c.1958), architect-designed residence is always so heartening to see in the Sunshine State and this one displays a creative and sophisticated progressivism which must have been nigh on alien in Mid-Century Australia, let alone Queensland. The architect in question was Dudley Wilde of Goodsir, Carlyle, Baker & Wilde Architects, also responsible for 1967 extension works on the now possibly lost magic of Winston Green (listed in March 2017). Nicely intact and looked after by its owners who have clearly cherished its practical yet elegant spaces (we spy some pretty special Modern art too!), this one is a choice for those who take their design seriously, have a not-outlandish budget and Brisbane in their sights.
